Rixard Trautmann: "Our next goal is to form a strong women's team at the level of men"

"It wasn't easy at the beginning. The specifics of the work were different from what I was used to."

Idman.biz reports that these words were said by Rixard Trautmann, the head coach of the Azerbaijani national judo team, at a press conference on the eve of the European Championship to be held in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.

The German specialist shared his experience of working in our team, spoke about future goals, and noted the success at the Paris Olympics, where Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelim Kotsoiev (100 kg) won gold medals: "We managed to become a strong team working in the same direction with great desires and great potential. We just had to find the right athletes, give them a concept and hope, and it paid off in Paris. The next goal is to create a women's team as strong as the men's team."
