The Azerbaijani national judo team continues its preparations for the European Championship to be held in Georgia. Sport24.az reports that Richard Trautmann, the head coach of the men's judo team, has made a statement to journalists.
The German expert is optimistic about the upcoming tournament:
"The team's preparation is at the level we want, we have had a good training camp. Injuries are inevitable here because they are combat sports. Unfortunately, Ruslan Pashayev in the 66 kg weight category will not be able to participate in the European Championship due to injury.
Of course, we want to succeed at the European Championship. We are also paying close attention to the World Championship. I believe that we will achieve good results there as well. It is difficult to make predictions in advance. Last year we won 5 medals at the European Championship. I believe that this number will be bigger this time".
The European Judo Championship will be held on April 16–19 in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia.
