"The Azerbaijani men's judo team continues its preparations for the European Championship to be held in Georgia."
Idman.Biz reports that this was stated by the head coach of the national team, Richard Trautmann, in a statement to journalists.
"There is very little time left before the competition. We are satisfied with the level of preparation of the team. The training camp we held in Georgia was also useful. Injuries are inevitable in this sport. Unfortunately, Ruslan Pashayev, who competes in the 66 kg weight category, will not be able to participate in the European Championship due to an injury," he said.
Richard Trautmann emphasized that they are focused on achieving positive results:
"Of course, we want to succeed in the European Championship. However, we are also focused on the World Championship. I believe that we will also achieve good results in the World Cup. It is difficult to make predictions in judo in advance. Last year we won five medals at the European Championship. This time I believe that this number will be even greater."
It should be noted that the European Judo Championship among adults will be held on April 16-19 in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. 409 judokas from 46 countries will compete for 14 sets of medals in the continental championship.
