The "Talent Selection" tournament among judokas under 16 has started in Baku.
"Report" reports with reference to the Azerbaijan Judo Federation that 187 judokas joined the competition on the first day of the competition held at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.
Girls competed in the weight categories of 40, 48, 57, 70 kg, and boys in 50, 60, 73, and 90 kg.

It should be noted that the purpose of holding the "Talent Selection" tournament is to form a healthy base for the national team, identify promising athletes nominated for the team, and form a sustainable reserve base.
Athletes who are in the top 4 in each weight category in the final ranking of 2 rounds will be involved in the "Hopes of the Future" training program.
