The first day of the European Cup held in Guba was successful for Azerbaijani junior judokas.
İdman.biz reports that 12 of our athletes competing in 8 weight categories took places on the podium.
In the boys' competition, Anar Guliyev (50 kg) and Zeyd Alasgarov (60 kg) won gold medals. Rasul Alizade (55 kg) and Fakhri Sahibzade (66 kg), who lost only in the final, had to settle for silver. Ibrahim Talibov, Rza Khalilili (both 50 kg), Royal Gayibov (60 kg) and Huseyn Huseynov (66 kg) won bronze.
In the girls' competition, our team added one gold medal to its assets. Nuran Hacizade and Leyla Alakbarova competed in the 48 kg weight category. Nuran, who won, took the highest step of the podium. Khadija Abdullayeva (44 kg) and Aysun Mammadova (52 kg) won bronze medals.
It should be noted that tomorrow the winners in 8 more weight categories will be determined.
