Azerbaijani judokas won 2 more medals on the third day of the European Veterans Championship held in Riga, the capital of Latvia.
Idman.biz reports that our only female representative, Zulfiyya Huseynova (F-6, 70 kg), became the European champion by defeating all her opponents with ippon.
Samir Ismayilov (73 kg), competing in the M-1 age category, took third place and won a bronze medal.
Earlier, Farhad Rajabli (M-8, 90 kg), Babek Hajiyev (M-4, 60 kg), Vagif Karimov (M-4, 73 kg), Emil Huseynov (M-4, 100 kg) won gold, and Samir Ismayilov (M-3, 81 kg) won a bronze medal.
It should be noted that the team, which currently has 7 medals (5 gold, 2 bronze) in its assets, ranks 4th in the men's competition among 37 countries, and 5th in the overall team standings.
