The opening ceremony of the Baku "European Judo Hopes" international tournament organized by the European Judo Union (EJU) was held at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.
According to "Report", the press service of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF), the Deputy Secretary General and Sports Director of the ACF Kamran Talibov spoke at the event and emphasized the importance of this tournament, which is being held in our country for the first time.
He noted that the competitions play an important role in increasing the practical knowledge and experience of young judokas, and thanked the European Judo Union for their trust.
Pavel Volek, the sports commissioner of the European Judo Union, expressed his gratitude for the high hospitality shown to Azerbaijan in his speech. The EJU official expressed his satisfaction that Kodokan experts participating in the technical sessions held within the framework of the tournament accepted the invitation and came to Baku, and wished all participants success.
After the official speeches, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played and the "European Judo Hopes" tournament was officially declared open.
