The European Judo Cup among youth has started today in Graz, Austria.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani team won one medal on the first day.
Nilgun Rzayeva, Fidan Alizade (both 63 kg), Parvana Abdullayeva (70 kg) and Nigar Suleymanova (78 kg) tested their strength in our team. Only Nigar was able to be among the medalists. Our judoka lost to Frenchwoman Leonie Minkada in the final and had to settle for silver.
It should be noted that 485 athletes (301 boys, 184 girls) from 25 countries are competing in the tournament.
