A Judo Training Center has started operating in Shabran.
According to the information provided to "Report" from the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF), the opening of the center was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, the head of the Shabran District Executive Authority Asif Huseynov, the Executive Vice-President of the ACF Rashad Rasul and other officials.
Sports equipment is installed in the physical training area of the sports facility to ensure the physical development of judokas. The total size of the tatami covers an area of 200 sq.m. In addition, there are also coaching and changing rooms. More than 200 athletes will be engaged in judo in the hall.
It should be noted that in 2022-2025, the Azerbaijan Judo Federation opened judo halls in Ganja, Sumgayit, Gusar, Agstafa, Zagatala, Goranboy, Sabirabad, Agali village of Zangilan region, Zira settlement of Baku, Agdash, Kurdamir, Astara, Jalilabad, Tartar, Gakh, Imishli and Mosul village of Zagatala. The next judo halls are planned to be put into operation in Masalli, Jalilabad, Gobustan and Siyazan. Since 2022, the Azerbaijan Judo Federation has provided 11,704 tatami to 158 sports halls in Baku and regions, and 2,430 young athletes have been given the opportunity to train for free.
