Judo competitions will be held within the framework of the XVIII European Youth Summer Olympic Festival (EYOF) in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, on July 22–26.
Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijan will be represented at EYOF by 12 judokas (6 boys, 6 girls) in 12 weight categories.
The team includes Gulshan Huseynova (44 kg), Nurana Hajizade (48 kg), Aysun Mammadova (52 kg), Samaya Yusifli (57 kg), Ayan Aliyeva (63 kg), Zemfira Aliyeva (+70 kg), Rza Khalil (50 kg), Rasul Alizade (55 kg), Zeyd Alasgarov (60 kg), Muhammad Agakishiyev (73 kg), Amin Mehdiyev (81 kg) and Subhan Akhundov (+90 kg). Our team will also compete in the mixed team competition on the last day of the tournament.
The judokas will be led by Emin Iskandarov, the head coach of the junior boys' team, and Elnur Ismayilov, the head coach of the junior girls' team.
It should be noted that 341 athletes (184 boys, 157 girls) from 44 countries will test their strength in the judo competitions of the festival.
