A meeting was held with judokas involved in the "Hopes of the Future" training program.
Idman.Biz reports that the meeting was attended by Vice-President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF) Elnur Mammadli, Executive Vice-President of ACF Rashad Rasul, Advisor to the ACF President Natig Bagirov, Performance Director of national teams Richard Trautman, as well as the coaching staff of youth teams.
It was noted at the event that a total of 124 athletes who were in the top four in each weight category in the final ranking of the two rounds of the "Talent Selection" tournament for the U-16 and U-17 age groups were involved in the "Hopes of the Future" training program.
During the speeches, the young judokas were congratulated on their participation in the program, and the important role of technical and tactical training in their future development was emphasized. It was stated that the main priority at this age stage is not only to achieve results, but also to properly form athletes, unlock their potential and ensure long-term development.
In addition, it was brought to attention that the main purpose of holding the "Talent Selection" tournament is to create a healthy and competitive base for the national team, identify promising judokas, and form a sustainable reserve force.
