"The competition went very well for me."
This was stated to İdman.biz by Konul Aliyeva (48 kg), a judoka of the Azerbaijani national team.
She assessed her participation in the European Cup held in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The judoka, who finished the competition with a gold medal, stated that this was her main goal: "We prepared seriously for this championship, as for every competition. We had been training for a long time. Therefore, I believed that I would win a medal. The match with the Polish Natalia Stoklosa in the final was memorable. My most difficult match was against the Italian opponent, I won it with a waza-ari point."
Aliyeva also spoke about her future goals: "The World Championship awaits us ahead. That is the main competition. I want to continue the successful performance here there as well."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani women's judo team won the European Cup held in Sarajevo. Konul Aliyeva (48 kg) and Gultaj Mammadaliyeva (57 kg) won gold medals, and Leyla Aliyeva (48 kg) and Gunel Hasanli (78 kg) won bronze medals in our team.
