Kenan Nasibov, a judoka representing Azerbaijan in the heavyweight category (+100 kg), won the Grand Prix in Zagreb, Croatia, becoming the first Azerbaijani in recent decades to win a gold medal in the super heavyweight category at a World Series tournament.
In a statement to İdman.Biz, Kenan Nasibov shared his impressions of his successful performance in Croatia.
"Even the day before the Grand Prix, I believed in victory, and I'm not just saying that. As soon as I looked at my opponents after the draw, I realized that no matter how strong they were, I could beat everyone I faced. It was as if the Almighty gave me strength! Yes, the opponents were tough, but I realized that they were not so insurmountable, and I tuned myself to defeat them one after another," said Nasibov.
