Zelim Tckaev, who was exempt from the first stage, defeated Jiangnan Wang (China) in the 1/16 finals, followed by Luan Almeida (Brazil). Our judoka also defeated Yun-Hwan Lee (South Korea) in the 1/4 finals.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented at the World Championships by 13 judokas (9 men, 4 women) in 10 weight categories in individual competitions. Of these, 8 have already finished their performances without medals. Our national team will also compete in the mixed team competition.
