Judo classes are held for fourth to sixth grade students within the framework of physical education lessons, based on a joint initiative of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation and the State Agency for Preschool and General Education.
Idman.Biz reports that the Judo Federation has released information about this.
It was reported that the project is also being implemented at secondary school No. 300 named after Vugar Avazov in Binagadi district of Baku. The curriculum aims to teach students the basic principles of judo, safe falling skills in ukemi, and basic movement elements. The lessons are conducted by Fuad Abbasli, a coach with an international certificate.
Students who complete the lessons will be given a certificate. In addition, parents and students will be provided with information about judo clubs in the surrounding area, and convenient registration opportunities will be created to join trial lessons and start sports. The aim of the project is to increase safety in daily life (reducing the risk of injury from falls and slips), develop social skills, cultivate children's interest in judo from an early age, and increase the popularity of judo.
