"Zira" football team goalkeeper Tiaqo Silva shared his thoughts on the game they lost to "Qarabağ" (1:3) in the 24th round of the Misli Premier League.
Idman.Biz reports that the Portuguese goalkeeper did not hide his dissatisfaction with the refereeing, despite the defeat. He said that a penalty should have been awarded against the opponent's goal in the first half.
"I don't normally want to talk about these topics and I don't intend to overshadow the opponent's victory. "Qarabağ" performed very well and deserved to win. But I can't say the same about the referees. I think a penalty should have been awarded against "Qarabağ"'s goal in the first half. For some reason, the referee made different decisions in minor rule violations," said the goalkeeper.
Silva also spoke about the changes in the game plan and the turning point of the match:
"We were playing more defensively in this match. Although we reduced the score difference, we left gaps in the back when we attacked. The individual quality of the opposing players is well known, and they took advantage of it. Our attacking players who entered the field after the 60th minute brought revitalization to the team, but the third goal ruined our plans."
Tiaqo Silva also revealed his team's goals with nine rounds remaining until the end of the season:
"We can fight for European Cups. Currently, our main focus is on reducing the point difference with "Turan Tovuz", which is in third place."
