The Japanese national team that will compete in the World Judo Championships to be held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, includes eight winners of the "Grand Slam" tournament in Baku. Sport24.az reports that the coaching staff of Japan, the homeland of judo, gave preference to athletes who succeeded in the capital of Azerbaijan in February.
The team also includes Ryuju Nagayama (60 kg), Takashi Takeoka (66 kg), Tatsuki Ishihara (73 kg), Sanshiro Murao (90 kg), Dota Arai (100 kg), Hyega Ota (+100 kg), Uta Abe (52 kg) and Momo Tamaoki (57 kg).
In total, 18 judokas have been involved in the Japanese national team.
It should be noted that the World Judo Championship will be held on June 13-19.
