Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg), the leader of the Azerbaijan national judo team, has had his winning streak in the international arena ended.
Idman.biz reports that the Olympic champion completed 21 matches without defeat in 18 months.
This series also includes victories at the Baku Grand Slam tournament, the European Championship in Zagreb, the World Championship in Abu Dhabi, and the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
It should be noted that at the World Championship held in Budapest a day earlier, Heydarov lost to Otari Kvantidze (Portugal) in the first round.
