Azerbaijani judoka Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) has worsened his position in the world ranking.
According to Idman.Biz, the International Judo Federation (IJF) has announced an updated ranking table based on the results of the recent "Grand Slam" tournament held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where Azerbaijani athletes won one bronze medal. Ushangi Kokauri, who competed in the +100 kg weight category, distinguished himself at this tournament.
According to new data, Hidayat Heydarov, who performed unsuccessfully in Abu Dhabi, dropped two places and is currently in fourth place with 3836 points. Rashid Mammadaliyev, another Azerbaijani judoka competing in the same weight category, dropped three places with 3723 points and fell to eighth place. The leadership in this category belongs to Japanese Tatsugi Ishihara (4500 points).
Meanwhile, the bronze medal won at the tournament allowed Ushangi Kokauri to move up one place, and he is in sixth place with 3801 points.
