Olympic judo champion Hidayat Heydarov will participate in the Grand Slam tournament in Tashkent.
According to Idman.Biz, citing the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, this will be the first official appearance of our team's leader this year.
It was reported that although H. Heydarov missed the Paris tournament in early February because he was not fully ready, he is now in optimal shape. The Federation believes that the Tashkent competition will be a serious test before the European Championship to be held in April and is important for maintaining the athlete's competition tone.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan will be represented by 19 judokas (12 men, 7 women) in the capital of Uzbekistan. A total of 380 athletes from 40 countries will compete in the tournament, which will last from February 27 to March 1.
