Azerbaijani Olympic champion Hidayat Heydarov, who won a gold medal at the Guadalajara Grand Prix, is confident that he will return to the top again.
"Report" reports that the athlete said this in a statement to "Judo TV".
He assessed his successful performance:
"I feel great. It's like I started everything from scratch and it will continue from now on. This is not the first time I have lost my sports form. After success, I sometimes suffer setbacks, but then I return to the top again. Even when I lost at the world championship, I knew that I would return to the top again. In professional sports, there are ups and downs - you are either at the top or in decline. Frankly, I am not too worried about the period of decline. I am an Olympic, world and European champion and I am sure that I will return. All this criticism just motivates me – I love it.".
