The World Judo Championships among veterans has started in Paris, the capital of France.
Idman.Biz reports that one of our judokas climbed the podium on the first day of the competition. Gurban Mammadli, competing in the M2 age category, won a bronze medal at the World Championships.
Our athlete, who competed in the +100 kg weight category, defeated Italian Pavel Gurgis in the match for third place.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented by 34 judokas at the World Championships.
