The judo competitions of the World Summer Universiade will start on July 23 in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany.
Idman.biz's employee sent to Germany reports that the competition will be held in Essen, at Messe Essen, the main sports venue of the multi-forum.
The organizers have already started preparing the arena. In addition, the judo tournament will be held in the hall where rhythmic gymnasts performed at the Universiade earlier.
The Azerbaijani judo team arrived in Essen a few days ago and has already started training. The team includes Babarahim Mirzayev (60 kg), Nazir Talibov (66 kg), Nariman Mirzoyev (73 kg), Mehdi Abbasov (81 kg), Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg), Davud Namazli (100 kg), Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg), Konul Aliyeva (48 kg), Aydan Veliyeva (52 kg), Fidan Alizade (52 kg), Aytaj Gardashkhanli (70 kg), Narmin Amirli (78 kg) and Nigar Suleymanova (+78 kg).
Although the program is known, the draw has not yet taken place.
On June 23, Babarahim Mirzayev (60 kg), Nazir Talibov (66 kg), Konul Aliyeva (48 kg), Aydan Veliyeva (52 kg) and Fidan Alizade (57 kg) will take to the tatami.
The next day, Nariman Mirzayev (73 kg), Mehdi Abbasov (81 kg) and Aytaj Gardashkhanli (70 kg) will compete.
On July 25, Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg), Davud Namazli (100 kg), Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg), Narmin Amirli (78 kg) and Nigar Suleymanova (+78 kg) will perform.
Team competitions will be held on July 26.
