Idman.biz reports that 2 Azerbaijani judokas competed on the second day of the competition. Both of them finished the championship without medals.

Abil Yusubov defeated Georgios Kotsachristos (Greece) in the 1/16 finals, and then Stefan Maytin (Switzerland). However, he failed to overcome Viktor Skerlev (Bulgaria) in the 1/4 finals and Luco Tavoletta (Italy) in the consolation match.

Although Suleyman Shukurov defeated his 1/16 final opponent Dusan Grahovac (Slovenia), he then lost to Inyaki Merchana (Spain).
It should be noted that on the first day of the competition, Azerbaijani judokas Nihad Mamishov (60 kg) and Mahammad Musayev (66 kg) won gold medals, and Nizami Imranov (66 kg) won a bronze medal.
