The European Judo family eagerly awaits the next meeting between Olympic champion Zelim Kotsoiev and Georgian Ilia Sulamanidze.
İdman.biz reports that the European Judo Union (EJU) has assessed the balance of power between these athletes in the 100 kg weight category at the continental championship:
"The titans of the Olympic final in the 100 kg weight category - Zelim Kotsoev and Ilia Sulamanidze are the leaders. The Azerbaijani judoka achieved incredible results last year, winning gold medals at the World Championships and the Olympics. But the work isn't over for the number one ranked player, he has returned to the competition in Podgorica.
The comeback has been more difficult for Sulamanidze. Although he competed at the "Grand Slam" tournament in Tbilisi, he was unable to achieve success. In 2023 and 2024, the Georgian won a silver medal at the European Championship, and now he is going to Montenegro only for gold."
It should be noted that the European Championship will be held in Podgorica (Montenegro) from April 23 to 27.
