The Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation (ACRF) has established multifaceted cooperation with "Paddle Europe" (European Canoe Association – PEU). According to Sport24.az, considering Azerbaijan's strategic geographical position, its ability to host development-oriented activities, as well as the existing high level of cooperation between "Paddle Europe" (European Canoe Association – PEU) and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation, a document on mutual cooperation was signed between the parties.
The Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, the President of the International Canoe Federation Thomas Konietzko, the President of the European Canoe Association Jan Zungrana and the head of the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation Vugar Ahmadov participated in the signing ceremony. According to the document, the parties will cooperate in supporting Eastern European countries, as well as developing countries and the development of canoeing by establishing the organization's office in Baku, as well as organizing international competitions and training camps in the Sarsang reservoir.
Also, infrastructure projects that will increase training opportunities in the region in the future can be considered. Taking into account Azerbaijan's geographical position, the parties will explore opportunities to strengthen ties between canoeing sports communities in Europe and Asia. This cooperation will include joint training, coaching and leadership education, participation in events and development of mutually compatible areas.
The parties will create a joint management body for effective coordination and transparent decision-making of cooperation. In this regard, it is planned to establish a Joint Management Group consisting of an equal number of representatives from both parties.
