The composition of the Azerbaijan national team, which will participate in the World Junior Judo Championship in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, on August 27–31, has been announced. Sport24.az reports that our team will be represented in individual competitions in 10 weight categories with 15 athletes (8 boys, 7 girls).
Our judokas will also compete in the mixed team competition on the last day of the tournament.
The coaching staff included Gulshan Huseynova, Khadija Abdullayeva (both 44 kg), Narmin Agamirzazade, Leyla Alakbarova (both 48 kg), Aysun Mammadova (52 kg), Samaya Yusifli (57 kg), Masuma Mammadli (70 kg), Anar Guliyev, Rza Khalil (both 50 kg), Rasul Alizade, Mahammadali Huseynov (both 55 kg), Zeyd Alasgarov, Royal Gayibov (both 60 kg), Mahammad Agakishiyev (73 kg) and Subhan Akhundov (+90 kg) in the team.
Amin Mehdiyev will represent our country in the mixed team competition in the 81 kg weight category.
It should be noted that 593 athletes (313 boys, 280 girls) from 75 countries will compete in the world championship.
