Members of the Azerbaijani national kung fu team, who achieved high results at the World Championship held in Perugia, Italy, have returned to their homeland.
"Report" informs that they were met at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by media representatives, fans and relatives of athletes.
Our athletes, competing in the "Light sanda" category, finished the competition with a total of 7 medals, including 5 gold and 2 silver.
In the girls' competition, Amina Aliyeva (11 years old, 38 kilograms), daughter of Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and granddaughter of President Ilham Aliyev, became the world champion.
Among boys, Rasul Asgarov (11–12 years old, 36 kilograms), Huseyn Aliyev (13–15 years old, 48 kilograms), Togrul Mikayilov (adults, 65 kilograms), Eller Orucov (adults, 75 kilograms) won gold, and Ali Bakhishov (11–12 years old, 33 kilograms) and Akbar Ahmadzada (13–15 years old, 70 kilograms) won silver medals.
With this result, the Azerbaijani team took 3rd place in the team standings.
