The "Kazakhstan Open" international karate tournament was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
Idman.biz reports that about 600 athletes from Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, as well as Azerbaijan, participated in the competition.
Our country was represented at the tournament by the national team of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation and the "Education" Republican Sports Center (RIM PHŞ).
The results of our athletes in the competition:
Yusif Valiyev (12–13 years old, -45 kg) - II place;
Fateh Kamilov (12–13 years old, -40 kg) - II place;
Shamo Kamilov (14–15 years old, +70 kg) - III place;
Rauf Imanov (16–17 years old, -61 kg) - III place;
Nasimi Musayev (16–17 years old, -76 kg) - II place;
Aslan Dostuyev (U21, -67 kg) - I place;
Rashid Suleymanov (U21, -75 kg) - I place;
Fariz Shahbazov (adults, -60 kg) - I place;
Farid Savadov (adults, -60 kg) - III place;
Rashid Suleymanov (adults, -75 kg) - II place;
Rumil Jafarli (adults, +84 kg) - III place;
Madina Sadigova (women, -55 kg) - III place.
In addition, in team fights among adults, the Azerbaijani national team defeated the national team of Kazakhstan and became the winner of the competition.
Anar Mammadov (Ganja city UGİŞM PHŞ No. 2) and Rustam Akbarov (Jaguar Sports Club / Karatekas: Kamilov Shamo and Kamilov Fateh) acted as coaches in our team. International-class referees Jahangir Babayev and Vugar Karimov also participated in the tournament as referees.
