The Azerbaijani judokas who will participate in the World University Games, which will be held in Essen, Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany, from July 23-26, have been determined.
The press service of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation told "Report" about this.
Azerbaijan will be represented by 13 judokas (7 men, 6 women) in 13 weight categories at the Universiade. Our team will compete in the mixed team competition on the last day of the tournament.
Our judokas will be led by Elchin Ismayilov, the head coach of the men's national team, and Sasha Herkenrat-Wimar, the head coach of the women's national team.
It should be noted that 392 athletes (214 men, 178 women) from 60 countries will test their strength in the judo competitions of the Universiade.
