Azerbaijani judokas have secured gold and silver medals in the 60 kg weight category at the "Grand Slam" tournament that started in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.
Idman.Biz reports that Balabey Agayev and Ahmad Yusifov will compete on the tatami in the decisive match.
Movlud Miraliyev, Chairman of the Sports Society of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, a well-known sambo and judo athlete, shared his expectations regarding the final match with Idman.Biz.
He stated that Balabey Agayev, confirming his high level again after winning the "Grand Slam" tournament in Paris, reached the final, while Ahmad Yusifov is a serious opponent who is deeply familiar with his teammate's style.
According to Miraliyev, athletes who have been training together for years know each other well, and this final is a great opportunity to officially determine who is stronger in the weight class right now.
He emphasized that considering the level of both judokas, one mistake will most likely determine the fate of the match, and in any case, it is a matter of pride that the Azerbaijani final will take place in Tashkent.
