The number of athletes who will participate in the European Judo Championships among youth, which will be held on September 4-7 in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, has been announced.
İdman.biz reports that Azerbaijan will be represented in the competition in individual fights with 13 athletes (9 boys, 4 girls) in a total of 10 weight categories.
Our team will compete in the mixed team competition on the last day of the tournament.
Our judokas will be led by Rustam Alimli, the head coach of the young men's team, coach Elkhan Rajabli, Amina Abdellatif, the head coach of the young women's team, and senior coach Sasha Herkenrat-Vimar.
In individual fights, Nihad Mamishov, Farid Garayev (both 60 kg), Muhammad Musayev, Nizami Imranov (both 66 kg), Abil Yusubov (73 kg), Suleyman Shukurov (81 kg), Aslan Kotsoyev (90 kg), Davud Namazli (100 kg), Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg), Farida Mirzayeva (48 kg), Khadija Gadashova, Aydan Valiyeva (both 52 kg), Nigar Suleymanova (+78 kg), and Nilgun Rzayeva (63 kg) will test their strength in the mixed team competition.
It should be noted that 374 athletes (207 boys, 167 girls) from 42 countries will compete in the continental championship.
