Azerbaijani judoka Ajdar Bagirov has advanced to the quarterfinals of the European Open tournament held in Prague, Czech Republic.
Idman.Biz reports that our representative, who competes in the 100 kg weight category, has successfully passed the initial stage and continues to fight for a medal.
In the same tournament, Xayyam Aliyev, who competes in the 90 kg category, and Elmar Gasimov, the bronze medalist of the Rio-2016 Summer Olympic Games, who competes in the 100 kg category, have completed their performances.
Note that the Azerbaijani team currently has three medals. Elshan Asadov won gold in the 66 kg category, Rashad Elkhyev won silver in the same weight category, and Kamran Suleymanov won bronze in the 73 kg category.
