The U-23 European Judo Championship has concluded in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova.
Idman.Biz reports that the Azerbaijani national team won a set of medals on the second day of the competition. Kenan Nasibov, who competed in the +100 kg weight category, became the continental champion by defeating all his opponents. Omar Rajabli (81 kg) won silver, and Aslan Kotsoyev (90 kg) won bronze.
On the first day of the competition, Islam Rahimov (66 kg) won a gold medal.
It should be noted that for the first time in our judo history, our athletes have won gold medals at the U-23 European Championships in the 66 kg and +100 kg weight categories.
In the end, the Azerbaijani national team finished the tournament in first place in both the overall team standings and among men, with a total of 4 medals, including 2 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze. Despite the fact that only male judokas competed in the competition, our team managed to become the leader among 37 countries.
