Subhan Akhundov, who competed in the 90 kg weight category, won a bronze medal by defeating Czech representative Melichar Skoda with a waza-ari score in the match for third place.
As a result, the Azerbaijani national team, which won 3 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals, became the champion of the judo competitions of the XVIII European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in the overall team standings.
It should be noted that earlier at the EYOF, our judokas Gulshan Huseynova (44 kg), Rza Khalil (50 kg), Rasul Alizadeh (55 kg) won gold, Nurana Hajizadeh (48 kg), Zayd Alasgarov (60 kg) won silver, and Aysun Mammadova (52 kg) and Muhammad Agakishiyev (73 kg) won bronze medals.
