The Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF) has announced its decision regarding an incident between national team members Tuncay Shamil and Aslan Kotsoev on the eve of the young men's national team's trip to North Macedonia to participate in the European Cup.
The ACF informed "Report" about this.
Both athletes were removed from the competition, and the matter was investigated by the organization's Disciplinary Committee.
The Disciplinary Committee held meetings with the athletes, reviewed their written explanations and existing facts (recordings). At the same time, it assessed the athletes' behavior and penalties received so far, as well as the proposals of the national team management.
The Committee decided to indefinitely remove Tuncay Shamil from the team due to actions that contradict the Ethical Code of the International Judo Federation, the Ethics Code of the ACF, and judo values in general, and to ban him from participating in international competitions and training camps as part of the national team.
It should be noted that Tuncay Shamil has repeatedly violated internal rules and has been removed from international and local competitions before.
