The European Judo Cup among youth held in Poznan, Poland, ended successfully for the Azerbaijani national team. On the last day of the competition, a member of our national team surpassed all her rivals and climbed to the highest step of the podium.
Idman.Biz reports that Aysun Mammadova, competing in the 52 kg weight category, demonstrated confident performance throughout the tournament. On her way to the final, our judoka defeated Polish representative Nina Potok, British Lola Hodson, and Swedish Sofia Kordova.

In the decisive match, Aysun Mammadova faced another British athlete, Kate Chisholm. Our representative won the tense match and added a gold medal to her record. This victory is of particular importance for Aysun, as she won the title of winner of an international tournament among youth for the first time in her career.
It should be noted that a total of 267 judokas from 21 countries tested their strength at the European Cup in Poznan.
