It has come to light that another of our athletes was not allowed to participate in the European Para Judo Championship held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, from September 18-21.
İdman.biz reports with reference to prosport.az that it has become clear that Ilkin Nasibov, who aimed to compete in the J2 category, where judokas with partial visual impairment should compete, has no problems with his eyes.
In the competition, Ismayil Muradov (J1, 70 kg), Abdulrahman Rzazade (J1, 70 kg), Muhammad Akbarov (J2, 70 kg), Saleh Sultanov (J2, 81 kg), Mehman Huseynov (J1, +95 kg), Ilham Zakiyev (J1, +95 kg) competed among male athletes, and Dursadaf Karimova (J2, +70 kg) and Khatira Ismiyeva (J1, +70 kg) among female athletes.
It should be noted that only our Paralympic champions were able to win medals in the competition. Ilham Zakiyev, who is also the vice-president of the National Paralympic Committee, became the European champion for the 9th time, and Dursadaf Karimova had to be satisfied with a silver medal.
Let us remind you that earlier, at the World Championship held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, in May, it was revealed that our female judoka, Paralympic champion Shahana Hajiyeva, had no vision problems and was not allowed to participate in the competition. With this, our athlete was removed from para-judo competitions for life. Both Shahana Hajiyeva and Ilkin Nasibov are considered students of Farid Agakishiyev in Sumgayit.
