399 athletes from 62 countries will compete in the judo program of the World Universiade.
Idman.biz reports that 216 judokas will compete in the men's competition and 183 in the women's.
The largest teams will be from Japan, Brazil, South Korea, Ukraine, Spain, Russia and India - 14 athletes each.
12 judokas will represent Azerbaijan at the Universiade, which will be held in the Rhine-Ruhr region of Germany from July 16-27: Babarahim Mirzayev (60 kg), Nazir Talibov (66 kg), Nariman Mirzayev (73 kg), Suleyman Shukurov (81 kg), Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg), Shamil Tuncay (100 kg), Ramazan Ahmadov (+100 kg), Konul Aliyeva (48 kg), Aydan Veliyeva (52 kg), Fidan Alizade (57 kg), Aytaj Gardashanli (70 kg), Narmin Amirli (78 kg) and Nigar Suleymanova (+78 kg).
It should be noted that the judo competitions at the Universiade will be held on July 23-26.
