Azerbaijani judokas will participate in the "Grand Slam" tournament in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. According to Sport24.az, the competition will take place from February 27 to March 1, based on the calendar of the International Judo Federation.
19 judokas (12 men, 7 women) will represent Azerbaijan in 12 weight categories at the tournament under the leadership of the head coach of the men's national team Richard Trautmann, senior coaches - Elchin Ismayilov, Robert Kravchik; the head coach of the women's team Amina Abdellatif and coach Imarverdi Mammadov.
380 athletes (213 men, 167 women) from 40 countries will compete in the three-day tournament.
Nazim Umbayev, an "A" category international referee and a member of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation's referee panel, will be among the representatives of justice in the competition held in the World Tour series.
