The karate competitions of the 3rd CIS Games will conclude today.
Idman.biz reports that 12 representatives of the Azerbaijani national team will compete for gold medals in the battles to be held at the Mingachevir Kur Olympic Center.
On the second day of the competition, Aysu Aliyeva, Renata Arabli (both 61 kg), Irina Zaretska, Aysel Gasimova (both 68 kg), Fatima Badalova and Aggul Asgarova (both +68 kg) will represent our country among women, and Farid Agayev, Rashid Suleymanov (both 75 kg), Turgut Hasanov, Farid Shahbazli (both 84 kg), Asiman Gurbanli, Vahid Hasanov (both +84 kg) among men.
It should be noted that Madina Sadigova (55 kg) defeated her compatriot Nazrin Piriyeva, Nuran Rzazade (67 kg) defeated Erlan Akilbek Uulu from Kyrgyzstan, and Roman Heydarov (in the individual kata competition) defeated Samandar Urazaliyev from Uzbekistan to climb to the highest step of the podium.
Farid Savadov (60 kg) and Nazrin Piriyeva (55 kg) won silver medals, and Inci Azizova (50 kg), Aslan Dostuyev (67 kg), Ramila Heydarova, Rovshan Aliyev (both in individual kata competitions) won bronze medals.
It should be reminded that the 3rd CIS Games, in which a total of 1624 athletes from 13 countries participate, will end on October 8.
