Azerbaijani judoka Farhad Rajabli (90 kg), who won a gold medal at the European Veteran Championships in Riga, the capital of Latvia, assessed his performance.
According to "Report", he made a statement about this on the official website of the European Judo Union (EJU).
F. Rajabli said he was happy to take first place in this competition for the 11th time:
"Everything went as I expected. All three of my opponents were strong. I prepared myself well for the tournament. The final match was especially memorable."
The 65-year-old veteran athlete said that he has been practicing judo continuously since he was 12 years old:
"What motivates me is simple. Judo has been a part of my life for a long time. My relatives are waiting for new medals from me. Sometimes they rejoice in these achievements more than I do. I don't do these for fame. I win medals for my love of judo and for my country. I always represent Azerbaijan with pride. This sport is not easy. But it has given me everything. I am grateful to judo for this."
It should be noted that Farhad Rajabli (90 kg) competed in the M-8 age category.
