The U-19 European Boxing Championship semi-final bouts have started in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
Idman.biz reports that two athletes of the Azerbaijani national team have reached the final on the first day of the stage.
Banuçiçək Nəsirli (48 kg) defeated Amelya Sula (Italy) in the semi-final – 5:0 (29:26, 29:27, 29:27, 30:25, 30:25). She will face Matilda Fragniere (France) in the final.
Bilalhəbaşi Nəzərov (50 kg) tested Lonut Razvan Panaintent (Romania). Our boxer, who won against his opponent in all three rounds, eventually won with a score of 5:0 (30:27, 30:26, 30:25, 30:25, 30:26). Nazarov will clarify his relationship with Tommaso Orlando (Italy) in the final.
Our other boxer, Subhan Babayev (60 kg), faced Luka Chkhikvadze (Georgia). Since the opponent passed the stage, our representative won a bronze medal.
It should be noted that 2 more of our boxers will enter the ring today in the semi-final stage. The final fights will be held on October 10.
