The 1/4 final matches of the U-19 European Boxing Championship held in Ostrava, Czech Republic have come to an end.
According to "Report", another athlete of the Azerbaijani national team advanced to the semifinals on the second day of the stage.
Zidan Humbatov (55 kg) defeated Sasha Menkaronini (Italy) – 5:0 (30:26, 30:27, 30:27, 29:28, 30:27). He will fight Riza Muhammed Safari (England) in the semi-final.
Thus, the number of boxers who secured at least a bronze medal for themselves by advancing to the semi-finals has increased to 5. Bilalhabashi Nazarov (50 kg), Subhan Babayev (60 kg) and Banuchichek Nasirli (48 kg) will compete for the final on October 7. Ilkana Ahmadova (+80 kg) and Humbatov will enter the semi-final match 1 day later.
It should be noted that October 6 is a rest day at the European Championship.
