It has been revealed how much Nazim Sadykhov, an Azerbaijani mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, earned from his fight against Frenchman Fares Ziam at the "UFC 323" tournament held in Las Vegas, USA.
According to Idman.Biz, citing "SportySalaries", N. Sadykhov received 65 thousand dollars (approximately 110 thousand manats - ed.) for the fight against Ziam. The Azerbaijani lightweight fighter lost the fight by technical knockout.
This amount includes a guaranteed fee of 60 thousand dollars and 5 thousand dollars in sponsorship payments.
The winner of the fight earned significantly more than his opponent - 210 thousand dollars (357 thousand manats - ed.). This includes 100 thousand in fees, 100 thousand in bonuses for the victory, and 10 thousand in sponsorship payments.
The highest-paid fighters in the tournament are the participants in the main fight. Petr Yan, who regained his lightweight champion title in the UFC, earned $1.43 million. This amount includes a guaranteed fee of $500,000, $32,000 in sponsorship payments, a $50,000 UFC bonus, and $850,000 in revenue from broadcast sales.
Merab Dvalishvili surpassed this figure, earning $2.34 million: $750,000 for guaranteed payment, $42,000 in sponsorship revenue, $50,000 in bonuses, and a $1.5 million share of broadcast sales.
It should be noted that Dvalishvili's fee, who was the star guest of the UFC tournament held in Baku, was higher. This is because the UFC considers him a fighter recognized by the media and commercially attractive: a large fan base, a winning streak, activity on social networks, and strong promotion of the league increase his commercial value. As a result, his managers have obtained more favorable broadcast sales share terms, which has led to Dvalishvili's total income exceeding P. Yan's figures.
