Seven athletes competed in the competition in Tokyo, the capital of Japan, under the leadership of Ahmad Afandi, the chairman of the union of traditional karate styles of the organization.
Among cadets under 15 years old, Aykhan Shabanzade became the third. Among young people, Salman Salmanov (kata) won a gold medal.
Among adults, Imran Guluzade (74 kg) won a silver medal, and Mehman Eynalov (+75 kg) won a bronze medal.
In the team kumite competition, the team consisting of Fuad Aliyev, Elbrus Abdullayev, Imran Guluzade, and Mehman Eynalov won a bronze medal.
