23-year-old basketball player Deng Mayar tragically died in a reservoir in Utah, USA.
İdman.biz reports that, according to the Daily Mail, the unfortunate incident occurred when the athlete, who played in the NCAA student league, was with his friend at the Blackridge Reservoir in Herriman, south of Salt Lake City.
Suddenly, both young men found themselves in trouble in the water. The basketball player's friend managed to get to shore, but Deng Mayar could not.
After the incident, his friend returned to the water to help him, but unfortunately it was too late. Mayar sank to the bottom of the water and never resurfaced.
As a result of the search and rescue operation, his body was found. His friend was hospitalized and is reported to be in stable condition.
It should be noted that Mayar played for the University of North Dakota team last season. He was going to defend the honor of the University of Nebraska Omaha in the next championship.
