NTD team's head coach Tahir Bakshiyev shared his thoughts after the decisive game in the 1/4 final stage of the Azerbaijan Basketball League, where they lost to "Neftchi" with a score of 97:102.
Idman.Biz reports that the experienced specialist explained the reasons for the defeat just one step away from the semi-finals.
"Today we could have won. We had a great chance to advance to the semi-finals. But we performed very poorly at the end of the game. Especially we made a weak impression on rebounds. This is very important. Again, we had every opportunity to advance to the next stage, but we could not capitalize on them," said Bakshiyev.
The head coach also assessed the overall picture of the season, emphasizing the difficulties with the squad:
"Looking at the season in general, the main problem was that our team was formed too late. There were many changes in the squad during the season. If this squad had been there from the beginning of the season, the result could have been completely different. We were improving from game to game, but we could not achieve the desired result. I think the next season will be more successful."
