The goal of the "Shaki" basketball club in the new season is to be among the top 8 strongest teams.

This was stated by the team's head coach Bedri Meriç in his statement to "Report".

The Turkish specialist, who extended his contract with the Shaki team two days ago, predicted that they would have a difficult season in Group A:

"I will spend my second season in "Shaki". Last year we had a great season and finished the championship successfully. But in the new season, our work will be a little more difficult. Because there are very serious teams in Group A. Three of them play in the Eurocups. In addition, the Ganja club has a good squad. NTD won the Azerbaijan Cup last year and has very valuable head coaches. He also leads the national team. In short, difficult games await us in Group A. To be honest, we don't have very high goals in the group. We intend to advance at least to the play-off stage and move "Shaki" to the top 8 strongest teams. Our goal may seem smaller than last season. But we need to take reality into account."

The head coach did not rule out that they would have difficulties with the hall due to the III CIS Games to be held in Azerbaijan:

"We have completed the player transfers. We are waiting for new basketball players to join the team. We are starting training this week. We will prepare and do our best. We have difficulties with the hall due to the III CIS Games. For this reason, there will be difficulties in training and we will have to play the first games in Baku. But we are used to difficulties from last season. We will do our best for "Shaki"."
