Azerbaijan's U-18 national basketball team, consisting of male basketball players, will hold a training camp in Turkey.
Head coach of the team Anar Sariyev informed "Report" about this.
The specialist stated that they are seriously preparing for the games of the European Championship Division B:
"There is still time before the start of the European Championship. We will continue training in Baku for a month. On July 12, we will leave for Turkey to hold a training camp. The team will test its strength there in several test matches. Then we will go to Romania to participate in the European Championship."
A.Sariyev said that they gained strength in the first stage of the training camp held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia:
"The preparation in Georgia was not bad. We gave preference to test games. We wanted to play a lot of matches so that we could show the experience we gained in training in the meetings. Most of the basketball players in the squad did not get enough playing time in the national championship. That's why I wanted each of them to go out on the court and gain game experience."
It should be noted that the national team will compete in the B division of the European Championship, which will be held in Pitești, Romania from July 25 to August 3. The team will face the host team, Georgia, Denmark, Ukraine and Portugal in Group B of the continental championship.
